Right, you should not take our word for it. Every restaurant owner says his place is the best.
So why don't you read reviews about frizz restaurant by travel guides, travel organizations or posted on other websites?
Here's a selection:
| Lonely Planet Cambodia (2008) | True, the name doesn't sound that Khmer, but the aromatic Cambodian cuisine here is some of the most delicious in town. The restaurant also operates cooking classes for those wanting to learn some secrets. |
| Rough Guide Cambodia | Small but excellent restaurant with charcoal braziers, similar to a Korean barbecue, on which you can cook your own Cambodian meat and vegetable dishes. |
| K'Telontour | Already rapidly becoming one of our favourite dining experiences, frizz restaurant is but a few minutes stroll away and offers a large, varied and great value for money menu. With the addition of first class staff, clean and comfortable surroundings and a comprehensive drinks list, you'll have a great time here. Wifey tried the traditional Khmer Amok, which consists of steamed fish in a turmeric sauce with spices under a layer of creamy coconut, presented in a banana leaf dish and I had the Saik Moan Char Kari- chicken chunks in curry spices, as hot or not as you like. Best meal to date and we'll be regulars here. |
| Footprint Cambodia | Awesome Khmer Food. |
| Secret of Fish Amok: | Of course the search for the best Fish Amok continues. For now though, I'd have to say frizz makes the best Fish Amok in town. It's creamy, just-right-spicy and melts in your mouth. Frits, a Dutch former journalist, is also offering Phnom Penh's only Khmer cooking classes. |
| TravelFish | Frizz offers a great selection of tasty Khmer food -- some of it really is top notch. Service is excellent and the English-speaking staff very friendly. Highly recommended. |
| Cambodia Yellow Pages: | Best burritos in town and authentic and very tasty khmer food. I recommend the chicken with eggplant. ― steve, USA The food in this restaurant is really delicious. We enjoyed it very much. The staff of the restaurant is very friendly and they speak very good English. We also enjoyed the cooking class which was organised by this restaurant. Real traditional Cambodian food. ― Willem en Christel Foppen, Netherlands I was at frizz restaurant a while ago and I was glad I discovered this spot. The food is delicious and tasty, especially the fish amok. Never had it like that before. Also their curries are worth a try. And if you want to cook yourself: frizz calls itself the home of the Volcano Pot, a delicious hot pot with beef, chicken, fish or a combination of the three. Furthermore, the staff is very helpful and speak good English. They're happy to provide you with information and travel tips. This place I highly recommend! ― Bert Wagendorp, Netherlands |
| Sweetcucumber: | A small but cosy place, very clean. The Khmer waiters were very friendly and helpful, and spoke English fluently, which is quite exceptional over here. I ordered the "Slap moan char kari", which translates as "tasty stir-fried chicken in hot & spicy curry sauce". And tasty it sure was ! One of the best Khmer dishes I've ever eaten. Highly recommended ! |
| Living in Cambodia | Frizz is probably my favorite restaurant in Phnom Penh. It is owned by a former correspondent from Holland, who purchased the restaurant from the previous owner when he accidentally learnt it was for sale. I recommend the fish Amok, the steak burritos and the eggplant stir-fry. As an added bonus, the level of English of the staff is excellent and they will be happy to practice speaking Khmer with you as well. |
| TravelIndochina | Simple setting, but serves some of the best Khmer food, at reasonable prices. The Khmer soups and curries are especially good. |
